The Charlotte Hornets host the Detroit Pistons at Time Warner Cable Arena in North Carolina on Tuesday night. These teams will meet a whopping four times the rest of the way, and the Hornets have the advantage of getting the series off on the right note with a home date, hosting a Pistons squad that has dropped five in a row on the road.
The Hornets had won four of five after starting point guard and scoring leader Kemba Walker was revealed to have suffered a torn lateral meniscus in his left knee – an injury which will keep him out at least six weeks – but now they are looking to bounce back after falling to the Philadelphia 76ers by a score of 89-81 on Saturday, followed by a 103-102 loss to Indiana in the closing seconds of Sunday’s contest.
The Hornets will lean particularly hard on big man Al Jefferson, who has very much enjoyed playing the Pistons.
Against them he is averaging 28.3 points and 11.3 rebounds. In sweeping last season’s series, Charlotte shot above 50 percent from the field in all three matchups.
As for the Pistons, with Brandon Jennings down, D.J. Augustin has picked up his play in a big way, averaging 20.4 points and 8.9 assists while knocking down 45.7 percent of his shots from beyond the arc in eight games since Jennings went down.

Additionally, neither team will be looking to play at a very fast pace, making the under worthy of consideration as well.
