Cleveland has played their bench guys over the past two contests and both have turned into ugly losses. The main core is expected to get a majority of the minutes come Monday when they welcome in the Detroit Pistons.

The Pistons were at one point the hottest team in the NBA. Now, they’re just looking for a silver lining to a season that will see them sit out the post season for a 6th straight time. Sitting just one game out of the 8th seed in a week Eastern Conference back on Feb. 23, Detroit has won just 8 games out of 24 since.

They found a little bit of a silver lining following their biggest win of the season as they knocked off Charlotte 116-77.

Detroit looked to be on a mission as they had a 30-10 lead after 1 quarter and had 6 players score in double figures. As a team, they made 16 three pointers.

Andre Drummond continued his stellar season as the C went for 15 points and 19 rebounds for his 5th straight double-double. Drummond has been a bright spot for the Pistons this season going as he has consistently controlled the paint from game to game for Detroit.

Detroit will go for back-to-back wins for the 1st time this month on Monday night.

Cleveland

The Cavaliers got a glimpse at what life would be like without their current stars. With Lebron, Kyrie, and Kevin Love all getting rest, Cleveland was ran over by the Boston Celtics. With their 1st round opponent still questionable, the Cavaliers will look to keep their starters fresh and prepared as they are expected to play a majority of the game come Monday.

While there was really no downside to resting their starters, it gave 2 of the NBA’s leaders in minutes per game a chance to grab some rest. Lebron James and Kyrie Irving have logged their share of minutes this season as they’ve led Cleveland to the 2 seed in the East.

Cleveland will look to take the season series from Detroit after dropping the first contest at home 103-80. The loss came at the time the Cavaliers were going through some chemistry pains and were not syncing on the same level. Since then, they’ve beaten Detroit twice on the road, including a performance that saw Kyrie Irving hit six 3 point shots in a 103-95 win on Jan. 27th.

The Cavs will look to avoid their 3rd straight loss since they dropped 6 straight back in the beginning of January.
